Utility Rate Increase
6/5/2025
As part of our ongoing commitment to maintaining and improving essential services for our community, the City of Lynd will be implementing a modest increase to our utility rates, effective July 1, 2025. These adjustments are necessary to ensure continued access to safe, reliable water and sewer services.
Water Rate Changes (Effective July 1, 2025):
The city water rates will increase by $0.15 per 1,000 gallons of water used. This base rate includes the first 1,000 gallons of usage. The updated tiered rate structure is as follows:
• 1,001 – 5,000 gallons: $3.50 per 1,000 gallons
• 5,001 – 10,000 gallons: $3.55 per 1,000 gallons
• 10,001 – 20,000 gallons: $3.60 per 1,000 gallons
• 20,001 gallons and above: $3.63 per 1,000 gallons
Sewer Rate Changes (Effective July 1, 2025):
To help meet increased demands on our sewer system, the sewer base rate will increase to $40.00 per month. This base rate includes the first 1,000 gallons of usage. Any usage beyond the first 1,000 gallon will continue to be charged at the current rate of $3.25 per 1,000 gallons.
We understand that any increase in costs can be concerning, and we want to assure you that these changes have been carefully considered to balance the needs of our infrastructure with fairness to our residents. These rate adjustments will help the city continue investing in necessary system improvements and maintain the high standard of service you expect and deserve.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the City Office. Thank you for your understanding and continued support.
