Kiel and Morgan Hotel Historic Site
The Kiel & Morgan Hotel in Lynd, Minnesota, is a remarkable remnant of frontier life and early civic development. Built in 1871, it served as a hotel and housed Lyon County's first permanent courthouse, post office, store, and church. Though the county seat moved in 1873, the building remained a hub of community life before becoming a farmhouse. Now restored, the hotel is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is one of Minnesota's few surviving examples of multipurpose frontier architecture.
